Auto Accident: The Importance of Documenting Your Injuries in the Police Report

Written by Lancaster and Eure

The very first opportunity to document your injuries is with the on-scene Police Officer. Officers are called to document the scene and exchange insurance, but they are also documenting the well-being of the vehicle occupants.  When the officer asks if you are okay, it is more than a social gesture. He is asking for his report. Take note of your body and evaluate your pain. Be clear and concise with the officer if you are feeling any pain. If you receive medical treatment on scene or are transported to the hospital, this will also be in the report. This first opportunity at documenting your injuries will help your attorney argue the relation of your injuries to the accident.   Contact Attorney Annalisa Costanzo for further information.
